Custom Home Detail
I often find that the tiniest details can be the most impressive aspects of one of my custom homes. Over the years, I have received more compliments from my customers and during open houses or Parade of Homes events about the small details than about any other aspects of my homes. Some of the compliments are for the high quality execution of basic concepts such as tight miter joints around doors and windows or a crisp, clean paint job. Other compliments are directed towards small, extra detailing that makes an element stand out, such as furniture style feet added to a wall of cabinets or raised-panel wood work on a decorative column that makes it look like furniture quality. Still others notice the inclusion of elements not found in the average new home such as interior stone walls or exposed trusses. Sometimes it's as simple as an unexpected convenience like a hidden switch that automatically turns the pantry light on and off when the door is opened and closed.
Attention to detail is necessary to create a custom home with great quality. It is also what makes a custom home unique. As you drive around Appleton, Oshkosh and Fond du Lac many of the exterior details that attract your attention will be on homes I have designed and built.
